Escape to the Lake at this Gingerbread Cottage Hideaway. This very clean, non-smoking, newly remodeled A-Frame is the perfect Couple’s Getaway (with or without the kids.) Sit back and relax on the large deck in the shade under the canopy of trees. Take the stone walkway across the terraced back yard to the pier where you can enjoy feeding the ducks, geese, fish, and turtles. While on the pier, enjoy a beautiful view of High Rock Lake and its unique wildlife. Nap in the hammock that overlooks the water as the squirrels play overhead. Watch the Blue Heron with our binoculars as they "fish." You may even catch a glimpse of our muskrat or beaver.

Ask about our optional Pontoon Boat Rental! We have a 2004 Sun Tracker Party Barge 25 available for 75% more. It features a sink with running water, a changing room, a bimini top, all safety equipment, and a camping potty. It seats 14 Adults (or 2115 lbs.)

While here, visit Lexington's own Bob Timberlake Gallery and the Richard Childress Winery & Vineyards. Then make the short drive to the Richard Childress Racing Museum in Welcome. Drop in on North Carolina's Transportation Museum "next door" in Spencer or make the one hour drive to visit the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. If you're a hiker or a sightseer, enjoy the views at Morrow Mountain which is six miles east of Albemarle. The High Point Furniture Market is less than 45 minutes away.

Our Gingerbread Cottage is for relaxing. It features a Sunken Shower-For-Two with Individual Showerheads and Controls. The deck has a Glass Top Patio Table and Chairs with Umbrella for dining or book-reading in the shade. There is a small play room upstairs with a second TV and a VCR with a selection of children's video tapes. Our Lake house makes a nice setting for small weddings and big honeymoons. There is no landline phone, but Cingular/AT&T Wireless and Verizon reception are available in the area.

We boast a very clean environment. All linens are washed between stays. This includes towels, washcloths, bed sheets, pillow cases, & comforter. We provide soap and shampoo for your convenience. This is a non-smoking house with no pets.

Bring the Boat and/or PWC. We have a lake access ramp within a mile. We will give you the key to the ramp upon arrival (as well as the key to the house.)

Our Lake house is conveniently located near I-85 between Charlotte and Greensboro. Many restaurants are nearby—including some of Lexington’s Famous Barbecue Restaurants. Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, Golden Corral, McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Subway, Wal-Mart, and Food Lion are within five miles.

High Rock Lake is the first lake in the Yadkin - Pee Dee River Chain. It covers 15,250 acres and has 366 miles of shoreline serving as the principal water storage and release facility in the chain. The lake was created in 1927 by Alcoa as one of four reservoirs to provide electricity to Alcoa's plant in the town of Badin.
