Hike Picacho Peak, a famous landmark and signal peak for the Indians. "Picacho" is Spanish meaning "Peak or Point". The Battle of Picacho Pass in 1862 was the "western most" battle of the Civil War.
The Peak is 3,374 feet high with a spectacular view of the desert.
See the Casa Grande National Monument, a chance to step back into history as you explore the remains of this age-old settlement built in 1350 by the Hohokam Indians.
